This sleek pendant is hand cast from a replica of an ancient Greek profile, which I believe to be Alexander the Great. It was cast in solid nickel-free bronze using lost-wax casting. I start with a wax model, and then a plaster mold is made from the wax. Liquid metal is poured into the mold and heated in a kiln to create the final product, which is then tumbled, tumbled, and tumbled again, and polished to bring out the shine. Bronze available with antique brass or sterling silver cable chain and lobster clasp.
The head measures 2" long and 1 1/4" wide. Total length is 22".
Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin. It is hypo-allergenic, lead and nickel-free. Bronze may oxidize over time, but can be easily polished with a jewelery polishing cloth as needed.
