Store your jewelry and special collections in this exquisite, one-of-a-kind handmade copper container with a hand-enameled top. The top colors are green, periwinkle blue, and dark blue in a lace pattern.
This container is completely hand-formed from copper sheet. The box itself is made from a sheet of copper in an embossed shell pattern, which is formed into shape and soldered. The top is enamel on copper with a fused copper rim on the interior.
The copper top is carefully cleaned and prepared in order to accept the enamel. Then, I apply multiple layers of enamel, which is finely powdered glass, in a lacy pattern. The layers of enamel are fused to the copper on both sides in a 1500 degree kiln. This firing process is repeated several times.
The top is counter-enameled (fired on both sides) for extra stability. Finally, the edges are sanded to expose the copper. And voila .... a vibrantly colored container which will make a great gift for yourself or a loved one.
The box itself is 1 3/4" diameter, and the box lid is 2" in diameter. The container will arrive in a box with ribbon and gift tag, ready for gifting. Not to be used for food.
