Double Coyote Claw Pendant Necklace, Bronze or Sterling Silver
Subtlely edgy, this necklace is sculpted in wax from two genuine coyote claws, obtained from a cruelty-free source. This is a great pendant for everyday wear, and because of its smaller size it also looks good layered with other necklaces.
Many Native American tribes view the symbolism of the Coyote as that of trickster, shape-shifter, and transformer. The sighting of the Coyote is said to bring natural shifts in balance, causing an end and making the way for new beginnings. Essentially, the Coyote is like a "way-maker" of new directions as it goes about its symbolic role of representing the cycle of life/death in nature.
I've cast the pendant in solid nickel-free bronze using lost-wax casting. I start with a wax model, and then a plaster mold is made from the wax. Liquid metal is poured into the mold and heated in a kiln to create the final product, which is then tumbled, tumbled, and tumbled again, and polished to bring out the shine. I've polished the surface to a beautiful shine, and then add a metal sealant to the bronze earrings to protect the finish.
The necklace measures 18" long. The pendant piece itself measures 7/8"high x 3/4" wide. In stock now in bronze. Please convo me if you are interested in casting in sterling.
This necklace looks great with the Coyote Claw Earrings:
