I've had this gorgeous Corvette Fordite cabochon for a few years now. It always reminded me of a sword or saber blade, so it seemed fitting to pair it with this silver sword that I cast from a vintage piece. The Fordite cabochon has swirling, striped layers in a variety of colors. I think the patterns in the stone and on the saber play off each other nicely.
It's bezel-set in sterling silver with hand-cast sterling silver saber. Lightly oxidized to highlight the saber pattern and add an antique look. Tube bale in the back. Sterling silver chain with secure lobster clasp. Completely handmade in my Chicago studio and one of a kind.
Fun fact: this beautiful stone is made from layers of vintage enamel automotive paint that has been cut and polished like a gemstone. Also known as Detroit agate.
Measures 2.25" wide and 1" high. Total length is 18".
