Japanese Landscape Teardrop Pendant, Copper Glass Enamel
This pendant is hand-enameled on a vintage raw copper teardrop. It has a screen-printed pattern and an image of a classical Japanese landscape painting of a boat on the water in gorgeous shades of green, blue, and black. I've added hand-painted gold, brown, and blue highlights, and an oxidized sterling silver chain and lobster clasp.
The copper shapes are carefully cleaned and prepared in order to accept the enamel. Then, I apply multiple layers of enamel, which is finely powdered glass. The layers of enamel are fused to the copper on both sides in a 1500 degree kiln. This firing process is repeated several times. Finally, the edges are sanded to expose the copper. And voila .... a vibrantly colored enamel pendant which will make a great gift for yourself or a loved one.
Pendant measures 2 1/2" long and 3/4" in width. Total length of necklace is 20".
This pendant would pair well with the Japanese Landscape Earrings.
