Whirlwind Bowl, Hand Forged and Enameled Copper, OOAK
Display your jewelry and special collections in this exquisite, one-of-a-kind handmade glass enamel bowl. The colors are gold, green, blue, and deep red in multiple patterns. There is also some hand painting on this bowl.
First, the bowl shape is hand-cut from copper sheet and hammered into a dimensional form. The copper is carefully cleaned and prepared in order to accept the enamel. Then, I apply multiple layers of enamel, which is finely powdered glass, and photo-transferred patterns. The layers of enamel are fused to the copper on both sides in a 1500 degree kiln. This firing process is repeated several times.
The bowl has a flat base and is counter-enameled (fired on both sides) for extra stability. Finally, the edges are sanded to expose the copper. And voila .... a vibrantly colored bowl which will make a great gift for yourself or a loved one.
Measures 4" in diameter, and is signed on the bottom. Dish will arrive in a box with ribbon and gift tag, ready for gifting. Not to be used for food.
