A stunning orthoceras fossil cabochon is prong-set in a sterling silver wire basket setting with a soldered brass scarab beetle in this Egyptian-inspired pendant. The orthoceras cabochon has a beautiful graphic black and gray pattern, with hints of orange. Your choice of an 18"dark brown leather cord with sterling lobster clasp, or sterling silver chain and lobster clasp.

An orthoceras is an ancient mollusk that lived over 400 million years ago. At that time, the earth was mostly covered in water. It had a soft squid-like body inside a cone shell. Over time, its aragonite shell turned into calcite and fossilized.

The scarab is a beetle that was a symbol of the Egyptian sun deity Khepri, and was one of the most popular amulets in ancient Egypt. Khepri is a scarab-faced god in ancient Egyptian religion who represents the rising or morning sun and the renewal of life.

This pendant unisex would work for a man or a woman.

Measures 1 7/8" long and 7/8" wide, and about 1/4" deep, Total length is 18".
