This unique pendant was made using a Pleuroceras Ammonite. Pleuroceras is an extinct genus of Early Jurassic marine cephalopods—relatives of modern squids and nautiluses—that lived approximately 185 to 190 million years ago. These beautiful specimens feature tightly coiled whorls, bold geometric ribs, and sharp outer keels that catch the light. I oxidized and polished it to highlight its intricate patterning. Makes a great unisex pendant.

I hand-cast this piece in solid nickel-free bronze using lost-wax casting. I start with a wax model, and then a plaster mold is made from the wax. Liquid metal is poured into the mold and heated in a kiln to create the final product, which is then tumbled, tumbled, and tumbled again, and polished to bring out the shine. Bronze available with antique brass or sterling silver cable chain and lobster clasp, or select sterling silver with sterling chain.

Bronze available now. Please allow 10-14 days for casting in sterling.

The ammonite measures 1 3/8" long x .75" wide, including the bale. The total length is 19".
