Spiral Shell Pendant, Bronze or Sterling Silver
I created this necklace using an actual Strombus swirl seashell, which I cast in nickel-free bronze using lost-wax casting. I start with a wax model, and then a plaster mold is made from the wax. Liquid metal is poured into the mold and heated in a kiln to create the final piece, which is then tumbled, tumbled, and tumbled again, and polished to bring out the shine.
Spirals are one of the oldest symbols. They symbolize the slow reveal of things that are hidden They can mean growth and evolution. They could represent coming back to the same point in one's life, but with new and better kinds of understanding. The symbol of the spiral can push the wearer to be flexible and have trust when things change.
The shell measures 22mm in width and 25 mm in height. The pendant measures 21" long. Chain can be shortened upon purchase.
The necklace can also be cast in bronze with a sterling silver chain, or sterling silver with a sterling chain. Please allow 10-14 days for the creation of your custom-made pendant in sterling.
