Trident Earrings, Sterling Silver
These earrings are hand-forged from sterling silver bars and wire. I created them by drilling holes in sterling silver bars. I've formed wire balls at the end of various lengths of silver wire and threaded them though the holes. The middle wire is soldered in place to keep the wires stable, but the two wires at each end are movable. Each pair is highly polished. This pair goes with anything and would be perfect for daily wear. The perfect power earrings!
The trident is the weapon of Poseidon, or Neptune, the God of the Sea in classical mythology. In ancient Greek mythology, Amphitrite was a sea goddess and wife of Poseidon and the queen of the sea. In works of art from the time, she wears the robes of a queen, and also carries a three-pointed scepter called a trident. The trident may occasionally be held by other marine divinities such as Tritons in classical art. Tridents are also depicted in medieval heraldry, sometimes held by a merman-Triton. In Hinduism, it is the weapon of Shiva, known as trishula (Sanskrit for "triple-spear").
The earrings measure 2 3/16" in length and 3/4" in width. In stock now.
